1. Moisturize
First, moisturize the skin to minimize cuts, cuts and irritation during shaving. We recommend that you shave immediately after showering or even in the shower. The moisturizing softens the hair so that the razor glides more easily. Use a face scrub or wash your face to remove oil, dirt and dead skin and prepare your skin for a comfortable shave.
2. Apply shaving cream
Apply a shaving gel or foam. Lather up and spread all over the skin to moisturize the hairs and to improve the glide of the razor and protect against irritation.
3. Check for dull blades
Check the lubrication strips, if they look faded or worn, or if the blades feel dull when shaving, it may be time for a new razor blade.
4. Shave with light, soft strokes
Use light, soft strokes, let your razor do the work – Gillette Skinguard, ProGlide and ProShield are available with a swiveling shaving head "Flexball" that adapts to the face.
5. Rinse your leaves often
Rinse your leaves often. Remember not to shave without shaving gel/cream and don't shave the same area more than once, as this can cause irritation. Hitting the razor against the sink can damage the precision mounted blades and seriously damage the razor.
6. Shave both with and against hair
With or against? The answer is both. Facial hair grows in many directions, you will shave both with and against the hair at different times during your shave. Shave in the direction that feels best. 7. Edge with Precision Trimmer
To reach the hard-to-reach places like under the nose and to define your sideburns.
Use the Precision Trimmer on the back of the blade. Available on Gillette Skinguard, Fusion5, ProGlide and ProShield.
8. Moisturize after shaving
Wash your face with cold water and pat it dry. Rub in a moisturizing aftershave lotion to leave your skin feeling soft and comfortable.
