Kestine is used for temporary allergic symptoms such as red, watery and itchy eyes as well as runny nose, nasal congestion and sneezing. The allergic problems can be caused by, among other things, pollen, fur animals, mites or dust. Kestine can also be used by people who are sensitive to mosquito bites, during a temporary stay in mosquito-rich areas.

Kestine is an antihistamine, which counteracts the effect of histamine. Histamine is a substance in the body’s tissues that is triggered when you are exposed to allergenic substances and which, among other things, triggers runny nose, nasal congestion and sneezing as well as eye problems such as red, watery and itchy eyes. In sensitive people, histamine can also cause troublesome itching and rashes after mosquito bites.

Dosage & use

Dosage is 1 tablet once daily in the morning with breakfast for a maximum of 14 days. In case of more severe symptoms, the dose can be increased to 2 tablets daily.

Kestine should not be given to children under 12 years of age.
Kestine should not be taken by pregnant or breastfeeding women as there is a lack of sufficient studies on this.

Patients with severely impaired kidney or liver function should not take more than 1 tablet per day. If you want to use Kestine for longer than 14 days, you should contact a doctor to rule out a more serious cause of the symptoms.

Method of administration
The freeze-dried tablet is placed on the tongue, where it immediately dissolves. Water or other liquid does not need to be used.

Just before use, the foil over the blister is carefully removed with dry hands and a freeze-dried tablet is taken out without crushing. The tablet must be taken as soon as possible after opening the blister pack.
