Nasonex nasal spray is an over-the-counter medicine that relieves allergic symptoms in, for example, hay fever or perennial rhinitis. Hay fever affects many during the summer months due to the high content of pollen in the air, while perennial rhinitis occurs all year round and is caused by a sensitivity to, for example, house dust mites, animal hair, feathers or certain foods.

Nasonex contains the active substance mometasone furoate which can help relieve nasal problems such as inflammation (swelling and irritation), sneezing, itching or nasal congestion. Nasonex can be used from the age of 18.

Mometasone furoate belongs to a group of medicines called corticosteroids (cortisone).

Dosage & use

Dosage for adults from 18 years of age: 2 sprays in each nostril once a day.

Once a good effect has been achieved, the dose can be reduced to 1 spray in each nostril once a day. Do not exceed this dosage.

If you do not get an effect within 14 days, you should contact a doctor. Do not use Nasonex for more than 3 months without consulting a doctor.

Active ingredient: Mometasone furoate 50 micrograms/dose. Other ingredients: Microcrystalline cellulose, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, glycerol, sodium citrate, citric acid, polysorbate 80, benzalkonium chloride 20 micrograms/dose and purified water.
